Helping A Florist Grow Their Brand

The Brief

The Budding Florist is a custom floral design & delivery service based on the North Shore of Massachusetts. The owner has a steadily growing clientele of businesses that need fresh floral arrangements on a weekly basis.
While The Budding Florist creates amazing floral designs, they were struggling to launch their brand. My job was to help them craft a website that could show off their custom bouquets as well as creating collateral that would introduce them to potential customers.

The Process

The main challenge was coming up with a look that would make The Budding Florist stand out from the pack. I looked at other local florists’ websites and realized most were “white labeling” national floral companies such as FTD and lacked a unique identity.

I felt that the company needed to reflect the vibrancy of Lynn’s immigrant community. Taking inspiration from the canopies of flowers that decorate the outside of local cafes, and the city’s colorful street murals, a logo was created that celebrates the city’s diverse cultures.

To promote the owner’s creativity and personal touch, I also shot a commercial showing different scenarios where people would want to order flowers.

The Outcome

The website was launched with the new logo and commercial as well as information about how to order flowers. Clients are able to use the site to begin their order and there’s also a page that provides a fun resource to learn more about the meanings of different flowers.
